We are delighted to welcome two new trustees, Michelle Roffe and Ben Harris, to the Southwood Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Michelle Roffe has many years’ experience in senior positions in the National Lottery Heritage Fund, inspiring and empowering organisations to deliver transformational conservation projects. She brings a wealth of experience of the third sector and a wide‐ranging network of people at community, statutory and governmental levels.
Ben Harris has spent much of his career as a specialist adviser in the sustainable development and climate change space. In addition to his various strategic consultancy roles, he has worked for UK and European bodies focused on climate innovation and transformation. He has a valuable combination of commercial, leadership and technical expertise and strong industry networks.
Chair of trustees Mark Southwood said, “Both new trustees are passionate about climate change and biodiversity loss, and share TSF’s vision that an informed, collaborative and practical approach is essential if we are to achieve the change that is so urgently needed. We welcome them warmly and look forward to them helping us deliver on our ambitious plans over the coming years.”
On the commencement of his appointment Ben commented, “Over the years I have seen how even a small amount of the right advice at the right time can make a big difference. I am excited by the role the Southwood Foundation plays in connecting the passionate professionals in the environment and sustainability sector, willing to share their time and expertise, with the community groups and projects that really need it.”
Michelle Roffe said “ I am delighted to be joining the Foundation to expand the great work already underway. I’m looking forward to helping the Foundation bring people together, share ideas and take action to tackle the challenges and threats to our biodiversity and natural environment.”
